This is an interdisciplinary volume which unites essays as well as creative submissions that engage with the issue of motherhood experiences in/of medicine, including works of fiction, creative non-fiction, in addition to traditional academic writing, allowing an open and innovative space for critical discussion."
My contribution to the book takes a hybrid life-writing/essay form and looks at an intersection between motherhood and chronic illness - examining, through anecdote and discussion, some of the difficulties of communicating complex, intersectional experiences that do not fit within dominant medical narratives.
